FINANCIAL ABUSE OF ELDERLY

Financial Abuse of Elderly

The financial abuse of the elderly frequently happens when care providers or family members gain the trust of an older person, and then use that trust to their financial advantage. Our law office can prevent that from happening and take steps to correct the situation. California has the nation’s largest elderly population, and this elderly population will increase dramatically in the coming years. Elders are among the most vulnerable members of our society and are particularly susceptible to abuse. Elder abuse occurs when an elderly person is mistreated and defrauded financially. Those responsible for elder abuse may be long-term care providers, the elder’s own family members or friends, or other persons that provide services to the elderly. In California, the legislature has explicitly encouraged lawyers to represent elders and their heirs and has enacted laws that provide incentives for such representation. Timothy A. Pupach will work tirelessly to litigate the elder abuse claims and bring justice to the abuser.
